Are you interested in introducing your children to gardening, eager for them to experience the wonder and satisfaction of caring for plants? The Garfield Park Conservatory has a new children's program where kids can drop in and get their hands dirty with "green thumb" activities.
The free series runs May 6 to October 28 every Wednesday. Children can drop in anytime between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the conservatory's outdoor Demonstration Garden. In inclement weather, activities will be moved to the indoor Children's Garden.
Each week, kids can plant pretend vegetables in the soil box, use play wheel barrels and participate in other activities appropriate for toddlers as well as school age children. No registration is required.
