Vy Tham (participating in the Association for Alternative Journalism's summer program) writes an excellent story about the dedication of the many boys and girls that pass through Blackstone Bicycle Works shop on the city's southside. The kids come to the shop hoping to earn a bike and in the process, earn back a part of their childhood tragically missing from their lives growing up in gang infested neighborhoods.
