BabyEarth, an Austin online retailer of baby products and gear, started by parents of 3, James and Heather Bendle, offers a unique service for used, unwanted baby gear: They'll recycle it for you, just get it to them.
They take: strollers, car seats, swings, jumpers, high chairs, and diaper bags.
Here's what they say on their website:
"If you’re done with your car seat, stroller or high chair, send it to us. We’ll make sure everything is properly disassembled and all usable parts are sent to accredited recycling centers. For example, fabrics will be shipped to developing countries, and metal, plastic and foam will be used for construction projects. In the spirit of renewing, if the item is in excellent condition it will be donated to and enjoyed by another family who needs it."
You pay shipping costs. BabyEarth will take care of the rest. When you recycle through them, they'll also give you a $5 off coupon for a purchase through their store.
Great! Just what I've been trying to for the past year. Just want to say keep up the good work!
